Orders surge and receive softness! Indian orders quickly transferred to China? The Ministry of Commerce responded! Can the order last for a long time?

Many Indian textile orders transferred to China? Recently, some media reported that since September, many large export textile companies in India have been unable to guarantee normal delivery due to the epidemic, and many orders originally produced in India have been transferred to China for production. What is going on? The Ministry of Commerce responded: normal market behavior! Is the return order an "emergency order"? Whether it can stay in the country for a long time still needs further observation.

In recent months, my country's domestic home textile orders have eased from the "cold winter" in the first half of the textile and apparel industry, ushering in a new round of hot period. Data show that the "turnover" of the textile and apparel industry was mainly in the second half of this year. Statistics show that from January to August, the national textile and apparel exports amounted to US$187.41 billion, an increase of 5.6% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 1.3 percentage points higher than that from January to July. In August, the national textile export value was US$14.72 billion, a year-on-year increase of 47%; the clothing export value was US$16.21 billion, a year-on-year increase of 3.2%, achieving a positive monthly growth for the first time in the year. Therefore, on the one hand, the peak season for foreign trade has arrived; on the other hand, many overseas orders have been rapidly transferred from India and other countries to domestic production.

In recent months, many large-scale export-oriented textile companies in India have been unable to guarantee normal delivery due to the epidemic. Many orders originally produced in India have been transferred to my country for production. Among them, orders for towels and bed sheets are relatively large.

Is this really the case? According to domestic media reports, textile and garment production bases in Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangdong, etc. found that the order status of most companies has improved significantly compared with the first half of the year, and orders from some companies have surged. In Shengze, an important textile town in Suzhou, a fabric company received a one-off foreign trade order for 1 million meters last month. The turnover of some factories soared by 5 times.

According to the 21st Century Business Herald, some companies do say they suddenly received orders from India. According to a report from China Business News, a printing and dyeing factory in Zhejiang issued an internal document as early as before the National Day: October 1st, "National Day" and "Mid-Autumn Festival" will not be closed, and each employee will be subsidized 200 yuan per month.

"This time the National Day holiday is also compressed. It used to be 3 days. This year, only 2 days will be released in order to catch up." A staff member of the purchasing department of a home textile processing factory in Shandong said he began to feel it before the holiday. The textile market turned for the better. "Recently, the number of (overseas) orders has gradually increased." He noticed that the vacant workstations in the first half of the year have been filled and reworked. "For factories like ours that do export all year round, the quality level is online. It can be started normally and the construction period can be guaranteed."
