Liverpool port workers to strike for two weeks from Sept.19
Dockworkers at the Port of Liverpool will start a two-week strike from September 19 after rejecting management's proposal for the latest contract renewal. United UK has confirmed that more than 560 port operators and maintenance engineers will take strike action at the Port of Liverpool from 06:00 (local time) on Monday 19 September to 06:00 on Monday 3 October. British container port operator Peel Group said the move was aimed at disrupting operations at the port and demanded a bigger pay rise after unions rejected a pay package from 7% to 8.3%.
