A Guide to Matson Shipping Service Routes

Recently, the shipping time in the United States has been good, and many ships have little difference in the timeliness (the actual difference is there), and the shipping price has dropped relatively recently. It should be relatively easy to ship by sea recently.

The most stable shipping time in the United States is naturally the Matson regular ship. The regular ship we often say is CLX, which goes directly to Long Beach from Shanghai. This route arrives at the port quickly (11 days), and the back end unloads and picks up the container quickly. Truck delivery to warehouses such as ONT8 can be signed within 12-13 days after the ship sails at the earliest (of course, this time limit is not available, and the normal time limit is 15-18 days after the ship sails).

The other is the Matson Auckland ship. The Matson Crane ship is positioned between the regular ship and the overtime ship. Some freight forwarders in the market regard the CCX (Matson Auckland route) as the regular ship. In fact, the route is very different from the CLX. , If you take the ship from Auckland, if you unload the ship and pick up the container in Oakland, the time difference is about 3 days different from that of the regular ship, but if your freight forwarder is booked in Long Beach, the time limit will be very different. , 5-7 days will be there.

I am not disgusted with the Matson Oakland ship, but I will pay attention to where the destination port is. If it is in Long Beach, I will not consider it. For the Matson ship to Long Beach, it is either a regular ship or an overtime ship.

Let’s talk about the routine of CLX and CCX. At present, there are some freight forwarders in the market (it can be said that most of them) sell these two routes as regular ships, but some freight forwarders are relatively irresponsible in terms of aging control. Often when taking the CCX boat, it will be booked to Long Beach, and then the time limit is not good for the price, and the time limit is not as fast as imagined.

The other is the Matson overtime ship CLX+. This ship ranks third and is different from the first two routes in terms of timeliness. However, this ship will generally cut off orders later than CLX. For some people who only ship on Saturday, this ship Routes are friendly.

The arrival time of Matson ships is relatively fast, about 11-12 days (in the case of no port congestion), and the goods that need to be signed for more than 20 days are given priority to Matson, especially CLX, because of the stable timeliness, of course, the price is naturally high.

Matson strictly audits live (especially lithium batteries) and sensitive goods, and has relatively high requirements for goods.

In addition to Matson, there is also a route EXX, which is a CMA CGM ship. There are CLX+ and EXX in the market. In fact, I am not very optimistic about the timeliness of EXX, and it can't compare with CLX+ in terms of timeliness.

However, EXX is not as strict as Matson in auditing live cargo. EXX has a nominal 12-day voyage, but in actual operation, EXX is often more than 5 days slower than Matson's overtime work. EXX relies on LA, but it has its own wharf and the back-end unloading capacity is available, but it is necessary to pay attention to the sailing schedule and voyage.

In addition, there is another route, EX1. This route is highly recommended and not recommended. In the market, EX1 is used to charge EXX. When EX1 is time-limited, it will let you know what the price is of high quality and poor quality.

Generally, companies that are equipped with CLX+EXX, when shipping, you can confirm with them whether they can appoint Matson to work overtime, specify the price for overtime, try to work overtime, do not use EXX.

When we ship, the channel selection is particularly important, and the channel is related to the timeliness, especially for urgent goods.

So how do we distinguish which channel the freight forwarder is taking? If it is a customs declaration, you can check the name of the container number, but what if it is not a customs declaration?

Then you can go to Matson's official website, check the name of the ship in the corresponding period, and then use the name of the ship to find out where the ship is. According to the arrival time, the approximate pick-up time can be calculated. Generally, it is relatively easy to pick up the container within 2-3 working days after the Matson regular ship arrives at the port. Normally, if it is delayed by 5 working days, it can be picked up. If it is slowed down, it may be because the channel has been changed or the inspection has been carried out, but the inspection of the main ship of Mason will be notified in advance.

Oakland ships can also pick up the container in about 5 working days.

Matson overtime ships can also pick up containers in about 5 working days (the current recovery period), Matson overtime ships will be slow, one ship will be slow (the ship will only sail on Thursday), and one ship will arrive at the port in 12 days, and sometimes it will be delayed by a day or two (like getting to Auckland first or jamming).

If there is a cabinet number, the whole process but the actual state can be used. You can use the cabinet number to check the port, pick up, and return the cabinet. These things will not be faked by the shipping company.

In addition, Matson's limited-time delivery is actually Matson's regular ship CLX, but some shippers are afraid that the goods will be loaded into non-US CLX, so the freight forwarder has launched a limited-time delivery to ensure the extraction time.

I don't recommend EXX very much, I would rather go for COSCO or ZIM than EXX.

At present, the ZIM time limit is also possible, but the arrival at the port cannot be strictly carried out according to 12. Generally, the arrival at the port is about 13-14 days (current time limit). At present, the ZIM back-end unloading and lifting container has been improved, and the time limit can be followed by overtime. The boat fights together.

At present, the Matson ship has the most stable schedule. The Matson regular ship sails on Wednesday, and the Auckland and overtime ships sail on Thursday. There may be delays, but generally only one or two days, which basically has little impact on the timeliness.

For the pursuit of stability in time, of course, Mason is the first choice.

ZIM's sailing schedule usually starts on Wednesday, but sometimes it changes.

The other is COSCO and OOCL, COSCO acquired OOCL, so let's talk about the two together.

COSCO and OOCL currently arrive at the port in about 14 days (the latest OOCL ship will take about 19 days to arrive at the port). These two ships actually have their own advantages. Containers for about 5 days), stable timeliness, cheap price, and the shipping schedule is complementary to Mason Yixing EXX, etc.

For example, the two ships will have a schedule on Friday or Saturday, and the sellers in South China will ship on Monday or Tuesday, and they can catch up with the corresponding shipping schedule, and then arrange COSCO or OOCL. The ship can be opened about 5 times faster, and the overall timeliness is not slower than overtime.

The other is Evergreen, but Evergreen's ships are relatively slow, and generally they are inferior. One ship of Evergreen ships to Los Angeles in about 16 days.

At present, one ship in Yantian is the priority COSCO, especially after the ZIM limitation last year, COSCO has become the most reliable shipping company in Yantian.

No matter in terms of price, timeliness, and back-end unloading speed, COSCO can be trusted.

Generally, for Yantian ships, I will arrange them according to the sailing schedule. Generally, COSCO is preferred, followed by Star or OOCL, and lastly, Evergreen.

Of course, we must refer to the latest shipping schedule for shipments, and we must arrange shipments flexibly, and do not seek swords.

Evergreen should be the bottom line of FBA logistics.

Of course, there are Wanhai and Yangming in the market, but I don't recommend these two ships very much. For me, the bottom line of FBA logistics is Evergreen.

AGL, will choose ONE, Maersk and other ships. AGL's price is very cheap, which has something to do with the ship they choose, and it has something to do with them and Amazon.

The aging of AGL is generally slower than that in the market, but they are cheaper. At present, some sellers use AGL.

I have known AGL, but it is not suitable for me. He is very arrogant in handling problems. He is the uncle when there is a problem, and you are the customer, but you also ask him to deal with it.

The aging of AGL is relatively slow, which is related to the ships they use and their internal control. Their aging is generally more than 10 days slower than the market, or even 3 months. Some people send AGLs that have not been put into storage for half a year.

I said that Evergreen is the bottom line of FBA logistics, and further down the ship, the time limit will be very slow.
